Field Trips
Visiting groups at the AEEC go on daily outings to local destinations that include rushing waterfalls, hanging valleys, glacial landscapes, alpine forests, streams, and meadows, and local trades and architecture. The curricular objectives create the foundation that cradle each day's physical objective, whether that be to descend through Lenk's multiple alpine vegetation zones, hike through conifer forests in search of plants and fungii, or explore Lenk's water cachment regions to explore water quality issues. The physical landscape is impressive, and the students learn to connect what they see to the principles they study and the data that they collect.
