Promoting Excellence in Experiential Environmental Education

Why Choose the AEEC?

People Return Year After Year
School leaders bring hundreds of students to the AEEC each year. Many of these groups have brought new classes every year for nearly twenty years. Most of our groups return year after year, and we are always happy to welcome them to Lenk. The AEEC provides outstanding teaching in a magnificent setting. That is the value our students and teachers all share when describing why they return.

Outstanding Teaching
At their first class, students and teachers are immediately aware that the AEEC staff are enthusiastic in their teaching . AEEC instructors are evaluated routinely in their methods, ensuring that quality comes first.

Magnificent Setting
The village of Lenk lies at an altitude of 1,000 meters in one of the most spectacular, enclosed valleys in Switzerland. To our south lay the magnificent Wilstrübel Massif with the Plaine Morte glacier, part of the rich Helvetic nappe that separates the Berner Oberland from the climatically distinct Rhône Valley.

Individual Attention
Each visiting group gets to know our staff very well, which helps establish a personal connection between you and the AEEC. Their time is spent with your group between classes and in the evening. They work with your leader in addressing any and all needs of your stay from the moment of your arrival until you’re on the road home.

The flexibility of our dormitory design and connections with other, local facilities allow us to easily accommodate groups from 25 to 80+ in size. Once you’ve arrived, your group has its own space and customized class schedule.

We are experienced at what we do and would love to help you plan your next environmental education field trip!

Sincerely,
Peter Harvey
